Rich Howes is a professional BASS fisherman from Oviedo, FL and was the first qualifier for the 2014 Bassmaster Classic on Lake Guntersville. He is a dedicated family man to his wife and daughter as well as successful business man. Rich is moving his fishing career to higher limits off the heels of winning the 2013 Bassmaster Southern Open Championship on Lake Toho. The Bassmaster win follows a successful fishing career over the last few years. A few accomplishments include qualifying for the BFL Regional Championships for 8 years in a row, a runner up finish in 2007 Xtreme Team Florida Championship, a 1st place finish in the 2009 Xtreme One Man Florida Championship, a 1st place finish in the BASS Weekend Series 2012 Lake Kissimmee event, reigning 2012 Kissimmee Chamber Toho Blast Open Team Champion, and the 2013 Bassmaster Southern Open Lake Toho Champion. Rich is married to his lovely wife Nikki and they have a beautiful daughter named Norah.
Rich is an avid college football fan following his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. Rich played collegiate football at the University of South Carolina for a year and then transferred to finish his career at the University of Dayton. Rich also sang and played acoustic guitar professionally for about 10 years during and after college. Rich owns a couple of Allstate Insurance agencies with his family in the greater Orlando, FL area. Rich is heavily involved with the youth and actively conduct seminars on various fishing techniques with an overall mission of getting more people involved with fishing. He is involved with the Teen Sports Fishing Association and I am working to develop High School Bass Fishing teams for some Central Florida High Schools. His goal is to get the sport recognized by the Florida H.S. Athletic Association. Rich is also the founder of the Fishing for the Kids charity, www.fishingforthekids.com
